My other car is a caterpillar: Jerry was raised on a large working farm and ranch so has experience & extensive working knowledge in farming and ranching practices. As a young adult Jerry worked on many large and small construction projects of various types and sizes. For seven years Jerry owned his own excavation contracting business in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The ‘call of Idaho’ overpowered him and for the past 24 years Jerry has been with the Idaho County Road Department where he has gained much knowledge of the lay of the land in Idaho County and beyond. Jerry knows all of the areas of Idaho County first hand and many of the roads in Idaho’s largest county, Idaho County. Jerry’s background gives him unique insight into Real Estate excavation, drainage, and placement issues.

Huckleberry Lady: Many of you also know me, Vanna Holland, as the *Huckleberry Lady* and owner of Wild Mountain Berries. The business experience gained from Wild Mountain Berries contributes to business skills needed in negotiating, writing, and executing contracts in Real Estate. Besides showing properties, Vanna also has traipsed over much of Idaho Real Estate in search of and capturing the prized Huckleberries, Blackcaps, Blackberries, and Chokecherries that Idaho has to offer. Hiking in Idaho is one of Vanna’s favorite activities. Owning and operating a successful small business in Riggins for over 23 years has given Vanna the perseverance and knowledge needed to see Real Estate Contracts completed all the way through closing. Vanna understands the financial issues buyer and sellers face. In many cases she can point the way to creative solutions.

Education opportunities abound: Because Riggins is a small town education opportunities are very available. We have small size classrooms in the Public School so children get more individualized attention. There are also several homeschool families in the community. Our children and grandchildren have been educated using Public School, homeschool, and online classes until their entrance into University. The most important thing is to EDUCATE.

Our Children: As with many Riggins families our children are now scattered literally around the globe as they pursue their own life interests and raise their own families. We have children in Denver,Colorado: Boise, and Pocatello, ID; New York City, New York; Portland, Oregon; and Pearl City, Hawaii. They and their spouses have careers in Construction, Airframe & Powerplant,Doctors of Pharmacy, Property Management, Parenting, Robotic Engineering, Christian Game development, Opera, Financial assistant, Doctor of Acupuncture and Holistic Healing, and Account Executive, sales. Visiting, talking, and traveling helps us keep our pulse on what is happening in Real Estate in the different parts of our nation.

Showing Property: We love to match people with their dreams. We are familiar with much of Idaho, and have closed contracts all over the state, assisting both buyers and sellers. Showing property is always an adventure whether it is by car, truck, foot, ATV, snowmobile, etc…. Sometimes we even need a picnic lunch.

Chichi: One family member remains to ‘rule the roost’. Chichi our long haired Chihuahua is now in her 20th year of being a part of our family. Believe me, she knows how to make us understand when it is ‘jerky time.’ Chichi went to doggy heaven Aug 15, 2008. Her memory lives on.

Surviving Cancer: Jerry is a cancer survivor so Jerry and Vanna know that relationships are one of the most important issues in life. We strive to maintain positive relationships with all.

Fishing: As Jerry and Vanna both like to fish, a couple of fishing trips must also be worked into the yearly schedule. They try to take some of the kids on a fishing trip somewhere each year. We have been fishing in Idaho, Washington, Oregon, New Mexico, Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska, Colorado… They are also hunters so Jerry loves to pass the traditions on.

Hi! We are Jerry & Vanna Holland. We have lived in Riggins now for more than 25 years. We have seen the growth and change over the past years and have both agonized and rejoiced with the different issues our town has faced. Our six children grew up here, competing in scholastic, sports, and Bible events while receiving their primary education.
